Planned for some months previous, a charity tractor run, and fun day was organised at Killen on the Black Isle, with all proceeds to go to Breast Cancer Now charity.
With only a week to go, the planned bike attraction pulled out leaving a lot of disappointed folks. Gavin Johnstone got word of this and pulled together a stunt show starring 13-year-old British Championship Trials ace Archie Bremner and 8-year-old Scottish Electric bike Champion Billy Mair.
Infront of over 1000 visitors on the day, the two put on a show that had the crowds gasping and gob smacked, performing for over 2 hours. Wonderful to see such young riders step up to the mark.
The event raised over £40,000 for the charity so well done lads!
Local businessperson and owner of the Store House visitor centre and restaurant, Quinton Stevens a regular Enduro Rider, provided some real class catering at the event and then donated £2000 to the charity!!!
In all, 107 tractors took part in the 40-mile morning road run and each driver was given a custom-made pink Hi Viz vest donated by Highland Temporary Works MD Ricky Mair.
Maybe us bikers do more positive things for the community than we get credit for?
